Punk has become as American as Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe, but at its onset in American pop-culture, there was an intense resistance from the mainstream. This polar push and pull is what defined the early punk attitude, and there were none more willing to display the angst and displeasure with the American ideal then the Dead Kennedys.
