Although it boasts ten full tracks and some multi-media content besides, Method to My Medium's debut release, The Sincerities, is essentially an EP, since three of those songs are reprised in alternate versions, and another is little more than a short, moody intro. Stylistically, the Bloomington, Indiana natives deal in rather catchy, synthesizer-sweetened power pop composed from a decidedly post-emo perspective (see "The New Chapter," "Melodies and Metaphors," and "Move Real Slow"), whose aforementioned second versions simply find them stripped down to what sounds like their demos…and probably are. Whatever the case, the qualitative gap between these totally justifies their producer's fee. So do even more elaborate undertakings like "Finding Redemption," which gets all ambitious with electronic beats, effects-processed vocals (like those used in that intolerable, Euro-bombastic Cher hit -- you know the one), and dramatized character voiceovers (also used on "We Can Live Like Kings"), reminiscent of Chicago's Bird 3 (who you certainly won't know, so look them up). ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, All Music Guide
